Pardon my ramble....I made vip posting on others reports and haven't ever posted my own...here goes nothing .

My fiance noticed I've been a "grump" lately so she told me not to come home until I fished.

I've honestly been super discouraged since my havasu trip and have spent maybe 2 hours fishing in the last month .Me and the buddy i went to visit(the dude who got me into fishing and then bass fishing) had a bit of a falling out so I've been in a weird funk .

Anyways i fished Murray for 3 hours after work today and picked up my biggest fish if the year.

I recently got some 10" magnum worms (imagine a 10" senko that weighs 1.5 oz) on a 3/16 shaky head in good ole MM. Hit the shore with my frog rod worms and frogs that were off limits until sunset.

I made myself fish the worms and 4th cast out i got rewarded by the cruel Murray Fish God .

Loaded with 65lb suffex and a 20lb invisx i made a long cast to next to a lone stick I saw in otherwise open water. I waited for the worm to sink and began slowly reeling in so that the shaky bounced off the rocks. I let it rest and gave it a decent hop. I felt a huge thud that caught me off guard .One more bounce and an even bigger thud. I swang for the fences and boom .Fish on. I knew I was tightened down on heavy gear so after one jump i proceeded to wench it it. After me yelling at it to "get over here" I had it landed .

It weighed in at 4-2 and is my biggest fish since my PB of 4-11 a year ago. Couldn't be more stoked .

Fished the worm for a total of 2 hours and the frog for 1 with no more takers.

Very last thing - I wanted to thank VinnyBass for the steady reports. Dude gives me hope to fish my home lake and has gotten me on the water at Murray countless times just by his reports alone.

Sorry again for rambling and if you stuck through this long i really appreciate it .

Tight lines and raw thumbs my friends!

Great detailed report. Big baits catch big fish, and even the small ones too hehe. Not too many ppl throwing big ol worms on a shakey head that I've seen. Way to try something different!

Very nice bass DeeMoeWin!!!!! You made all of us who fish Murray lately proud.
Even though I was whining on my last report, I still always go back to Murray as even though it can be tough and discouraging at times, there will be times where you have a great time and catch some decent bass.
That was a nice fish you caught and judging from the big smile on the pics your shared....looks like it was a worthwhile trip. Gotta love that worm you used too!
Anyway.....Keep up the good work, never give up and tight lines always! :)
    Vinny

I appreciate the positive response gents. I can honestly say that i didn't plan on fishing these on a shaky head as i've never fished a shaky. The dude i bought them from suggested it and sent a couple with the baits so i gave it a shot.

Gotta say it's going to be one of my confidence baits now.

Great job with the big worm and thanks for the report. I’m going to try Murray again tomorrow morning and even though I’ve been skunked there more often than not I will keep going back. Maybe I’ll throw a large worm for awhile since you have given me some hope

I appreciate the kind words brotha .
I honestly only fished Murray that day because its on the way home and the gas light on the truck was on. Murray's my kryptonite man.
That's why i thanked VinnyBass because if it wasn't for his reports I would avoid that lake like the plague .

So like I said I went to Murray this morning. Caught two little guys, hooked another small one but blew the hook set and lost it , then hooked a pretty good one maybe 3 to 31/2 all I saw was his big head when he came up and through the hook but it was a beautiful morning and I had a great time and left without the Murray skunk. Nothing wrong with that at all

Way to go man that's awesome. 2 fish and a decent battle sounds like a good day. Bummer it spit the bait but it's pretty sweet you got to see it.

That's one difficult lake to learn but it sounds like you're figuring it out.
