Just read an article about the Ramona water district voting to stop selling untreated water to agricultural customers because of their declining numbers. The problem: Lake Ramona has been used to store the untreated water for the district! The lake will no longer have a purpose for the district and because of evaporation and costs associated with upkeep of the lake, they say they will need to drastically lower the lake level! I think they would eventually drain the entire lake because they say they won't store treated or potable water in the lake! I'll keep my ears open to any future updates!

Oh man, that would be a big bummer. That lake is a fun place to spend a day.

Wow, where will Ramona kids swim? The board has considered the lake to be a pain in the you-know-where for a long time. Seems the demand for untreated water would go up, not down. Maybe they want too much dinero for it!

I believe they said the demand for untreated had dropped by at least 50% because of loss of farm land and avocados. It's easier to sell the remaining customers treated water along with everyone else. I don't think the untreated water was all that cheap because I believe they were pumping it up from Poway to store in Lake Ramona.

All water is un treated at some point, send it to poway at the bottom of the hill. They can treat it there.
A lot closer then the Colorado river and it's free, from run off.
There talking toilet to tap, I would rather drink Ramona water.

Its not just California, Seattle, Portland and the rest of the states are following in the same ways. Minnesotans say they adopt every law California writes.
METH has taken over in rural america, METH is the housing crisis and homelessness pandemic every where.
do your homework where ever you move, watch out for for cheap prices theirs a reason.

That would be terrible.... I have been killing it up there the last few weeks.... I love the hike and seclusion. Nice to still be able to have a whole lake to yourself in city limits.

I love weather xtremes, and the ocean view isn't a priority to me. And no bugs?! Try escondido. I hung out with my uncle the other day in eastern escondido and within 10 minutes of getting there, I had several suckmito bites and itched like crazy. I'm still moving out of here:emoji_wave:

i see your boat fishfanatic is a float tube. in Missouri ,Texas , Florida, Oklahoma and list going on, water moccasins, copperheads, gators you name it.will be boarding your ship. the bugs are so big they put saddles on them.did i say tornadoes , hurricanes, floods , 100 percent humidity . sounds like a good time.
Texas 100 days at 100 degrees every summer.
prices in california are high , no doubt about it, if money not the issue its the place to be.
in Hays, Kansas, they count the cars driving by, for something to do. ( ive been there.)

I have a friend that has a trailer there he hunts out of, and also a friend that lives in Bogue a little east of Hays. The deer hunting and pheasant hunting is great. But ...
He says that the fishing and hunting is going down hill. I guess that at 77 years I should just take it as it comes, and remember how it used to be. I still hunt deer and fish a lot here even if it is overly crowded, with wake boats, skiers and PWCs

For a while I wanted so bad to move somewhere else. Places with big trees, rivers that run all year, better hunting opportunities etc, but then I fell in love with San Diego all over again.... It really does have everything, maybe not the all at the best but it does. And somehow it still has it's own secrets and places that feel like are "yours" and keep that small town/local feel.

Plus the food has gotten way better
