Well, did well at San V on top (morning session) just before my trip up north (Sioux Falls, SD) to celebrate my mom's 90th a few days ago. Did well up there too, although I only got out on the water for two hours. 5472_MorningMist202.jpg

Loved the mist over the lake at sunrise, all systems should be go.

    5473_Lures_125.jpg

Half the rods, pretty ready for bear (mostly all top).

    5476_PopperBass_266.jpg

Was a bit tough on top, so went for the 'for sure' one, a popper.

    5588_WholeFamily_223.jpg

The whole clan with mom. She's doing great for her age. Photo includes all six 'little brothers' (I'm the oldest), who are all bigger (taller, and mostly heavier too) than me!!! One came from Missouri, two of us from So. Cal. Some live up there, and even three with her! (Should you ask, no. No sisters). ;/0

    5600_PikeFullSize_269.jpg

    My first ever pike.

    5614_SilverBass.jpg

My brother Chris had just mentioned there was a bass called a 'white', aka 'silver'. Moments later I caught one, on top.

    5596_FamilyParkPond_157.jpg

Part of the 'Family Park' pone, there is another section about this big connected by a small opening. My
bass came by the pole in the water, as well as the white bass further down the bank.

    5603_PikeCloseUp_259.jpg

My trifecta on the popper. One pike, one largemouth and one white bass.

    5595_BassChris_282.jpg

Told my brother "I won', my three fish weighed more than his dozen 5" fish, mostly baby pike.
"No", he said, he'd won, caught 'more'! What do. you say? ;/)

This was the biggie got at noon at San V. Topwater, thank U lord.

Nice fish, I'm heading that way myself, lake benton, minnesota, few miles from Sioux falls, people live a long good life back there.
My cousin has a home on the lake ,but he's not a fisherman, but he's got a boat tied to the dock I'll make it happen, lots of walleye.
    Aka Minnesota bass.

Thanks for sharing , nice photos, as always.

I always enjoy and look forward to your posts and especially your wonderful pic's. Words are great, but when you mix words with your pics....it is really nice! Feels like we are there with you and always enjoy seeing a topwater lure hanging out of the mouths of the fish that you catch.
Thanks for all you do and tight lines always! :)

its hard to beleive , but farmers work when the sun is shining. they work hard sun up to sun down. its a much different life back there, nobody looking for hand outs. if they didnt freeze they would starve to death if you dont work.

Thanks tsugg . It's from me asking a million questions on this and two other sites - westernbass and TFF (Texas Fishing Forum) over the past 15 years, plus going out with a couple of folks, back seating, from this board. I remember one gentleman coming into my gallery 10 years ago, to buy a tube ticket for Barrett off me, and mentioning he was so surprised I went from asking so many questions to writing articles (on frog fishing). AND thank God for the internet, I read sooooooo many articles on every type of bass fishing. And time on the water, two days a week for 15 years, that's key.

Thanks for your insightful reply. I'm retired so I really don't have any excuse for not fishing two days a week. I've been enjoying the Saturday fishing with my son(he works) but I better step it up!! Thanks again Michael.
