Yes but it's the only fish that will yeild a million plus $$$ if you're the lucky bassta-d that hooks a 23 over!!! That's the reason I fish for bass it's purely financial for me!! Some day I might become a famous Fisher person. Until then I'm just burning up my retirement looking for that fat bass.

Turns out, the head injury I suffered while trying to knock down a railroad bridge near Plaster City using nothing but a Simpson helmet and a Honda 350 may have scrambled my memories a bit. The Dirty Jobs episode was probably the one about fish farming (carp and tilapia), not sewage treatment. But yeah, it was mostly about poop.

What does the last 3-4 posts have any thing to do with buying permits or not, just storing up tilapia food

I have a better idea... introduce stripers and white bass instead. Feed hard, fight harder pound for pound, taste better, it would probably help encourage fisherman to actually keep fish.

You sure about that? From what everyone has told me these lakes are screwed for the most part. I say put in some predators that will help cull the bass fry and some of the larger fish, promotes the keeping of fish.. nothing wrong with that.

Swipers are vicious. They would be perfect as long as they kept stocking them.

Yeah, the wipers came in through the pipes to Barrett, but were never re-stocked so they disappeared. A friend who used to fish there has pictures of piles of them from his poaching days.
I don't think anyone's gonna introduce any new species, lest they get loose and end up in some protected watersheds downstream. And let's be realistic; if they put stripers or hybrids into a lake and some random basshead had a bad day (or is just a lousy fisherman), the interwebs would throb with "I can't believe they killed off the largemouth in my favorite reservoir." Bad PR.

There is a whole host of invasive animals coming, most not even on the radar yet. I assure you, our Southern California waterways have not seen the last destructive pest, not by a long shot...

The DFG already shocked some gizzard shad up in a pond near Wister. That’s at the end of the IID infrastructure system. So if they are there they are probably all over the Imperial Valley. Bass fishermen on the Colorado around Martinez are seeing them in the larger and larger numbers.

Saw several the last few times I have fished that reservoir in the northwest corner. They were thick in Sheldon before they did the last silt mitigation, I am VERY sure they are scattered throughout the canal system, and probably becoming more prevalent by the day, Mogambo and swings are free

Do you know if there is a fishing method that can catch them? A buddy asked me and I told him I had no idea...
