Not a shore pounders event obviously, but it's something I've been thinking about for a minute.
What I'd like to do is have at least three skiffs with two man teams duke it out for shyts N giggles in MB. Original idea was rented skifs, although if you have a boat or bay scooter that holds two, even better(and cheaper). I'm thinking a Saturday morning sometime in April. I'm also thinking two pots, spotties N butts. Who knows maybe of the two man teams, one strictly fishes halibut and the other spotties? Dunno.
What I do know is that it would be really cool to make this happen. What I also know is this would be for serious people only. So... February is about over, so I will give you guys all of March to come up with your team, no maybe, no potential, no we will see, I need solid 100% confirmed teams. It would really suck for dude to come out and his team member not show up, leaving him out. Thought about taking deposits for that reason itself.... I know right? I said it's for shyts N giggles, but it's for SERIOUS shyts N giggles. For real Doe... Really, for doe.

On the last day of March I will post the sign up thread. For now, let's here some input.

Sounds like a pretty awesome idea to me. The downside is that I don't know how many of us have skiffs. Maybe somehow there's a way to include the yak and tube people. Any idea if this is going to a monthly thing like Shorepounders?

MB. Mentioned early in the thread. It won't be fair to have it in SD Bay as those of us who have to rent skifs are really limited in travel.

It says MB but I personally think SD Bay would be more interesting. Just more variety of underwater terrain and species.

What is the length limit that a skiff would fall under for the purpose of this contest? We're planning on getting Ol' Not-So-Reliable running this spring if we can dedicate a few weekends when my neighbor is available to get things done and have someone else do the dirtier work like dropping the 350 in.

Just refreshed the page, and I totally understand about the whole rental thing. The bayliner isn't going to MB though if that's the case.

The "tourney" is limited to bay bass only right? If not are we allowed to venture outside the bay in search of bigger fish.

If anything we can all rent kayaks and the people on skiffs can drag us around. Think about all the water you can cover hahahaha!

DJs deal but I say absolutely not.
Rental skiffs can't go out so why would that area be included?

Yes, the whole purpose of skif wars is to compete against the other teams for spotties and butts. Original idea was skifs only. Opened up to boats but will have same fishing boundaries, skifs can go everywhere in MB except the channel that leads to the ocean. So it's more fair in MB.

Is it restricted only to SDFISH members or can a teammate be a non member?
