Way back when we discussed the ridiculous 12 cent per gallon gas tax over 10 yrs (estimated to bring $50 Billion) imposed on all of us. It was supposed to solely, SOLELY go for infrastructure/roads. Here ya go. Skip ahead to about 9 mins 30 sec. Im just stoked that at least ONE politician/person in CA other than me recognizes that this was complete and utter BS.

Same question I asked several times on here.. "Where did the money go because it sure didn't go to infrastructure !"

The discussion about the gas tax begins at 9:30, not that the rest of it is not worthwhile.

McCarthy? I agree. The fine citizens of Bakersfield and the 23rd district deserve better...

Unsure what tax increase you are referring to but the latest one, SB1, can in fact only be used for transportation projects. Interns of where it has gone since it was made law:

    http://rebuildingca.ca.gov/map.html

So yeah, it went to infrastructure.

Just like our water tax went to build more reservoirs except not 1 dollar has been used to build reservoirs or increase our storage abilities. However it has been used to rewild (destroy water reserves to bring us back to our natural state) rivers. Reducing our water storage abilities. I love the idea of bringing our state back to what it was 100s of years ago however we have a population of over 40 million people. So that is not exactly feasible.

Yeah, one for San Diego, 11 for LA and 10 for SF, D's voters being rewarded by the corrupt politicians in Sacramento.
Meanwhile, the Prop 6 effort was not just to repeal the 12 c tax, but more importantly to audit how the previous gas tax money have been spent so far. This was the major reason why the wicked politicians probably consulted with some sociologists how to formulate the question in the ballot in order to confuse best the voters and to trick them to defeat Prop 6.
There should be a law the formulation on the ballot to be exactly the same as it was on the petition but who would pass it?
California must burn in complete financial bankruptcy before anything changes. I don't see it in my remaining life time, so better go fishing until this is still allowed and relatively affordable.

Not sure how you arrived at your count, but it is wrong.

San Diego County saw 310 projects, so your error there was 309.

I did not vote for the tax increase, but I do believe in having informed discourse based on facts.

I count only the last type, the transit projects since to me this appears to ber the largest portion of the total budget and is easiest to count. But for the other types the difference is similar.

So you are taking the raw data, which are factual, and then applying a bias (the dismissal of data that don’t support your opinion) in order to substantiate your opinion.

There were all types of SB1 projects, all were funded by the tax monies.

To be fair, we live in the unincorporated area in the north county and they have been repairing the side streets and main streets. They have those asphalt grinding machines tearing up the asphalt and have a skip loader removing it. Then they pour the new asphalt.
But I still believe that not all of the gas tax money goes to where it's supposed to go. But that's just like every other government tax.

You are of course entitled to you belief(s). But know that all of the SB1 funding is going exactly where is is supposed to, and it’s all tracked by the California Transportation Commission. The burden on those who don’t think it’s being used ethically and correctly is to not just “believe” it’s not but to demonstrate how it not with demonstrable examples. The CTC and the California House and Senate would be very interested.

If the speaker in the first linked video truly had proof that SB1 was not being used properly, why hasn’t he raised the issue with the CTC? My belief is that he does not have any proof and instead he’s doing his job as a politician and spinning to achieve one of his goals, as many do of course.

And you're entitled to your beliefs also.
I'm just not going to believe everything that the government says that I should believe.
Government robs Peter to pay Paul quite frequently, that's why Social Security is in trouble.
If you want to take the word of the government as gospel then more power to you. I for one don't believe everything that I'm told.

I don’t take the word of anyone, I research and arm myself with facts.

To extend my points regarding SB1 and how it’s being handled to how I view all facets of government is a false association.
