Fisheromen i got up there today to get a lay of the land and help get things together for opening day... No i could not fish but...
We took a short trip around the lake and all i can say is it looks EPIC!
When you get out past the dam there is almost not an inch if shore line that is not structure of some sort... drop offs, bolders, submerged and partialy submerged brush and trees... i seen 20" bass swimming by the docks with no concern that we were there... If you smell a skunk on opening week it will be time to hang up the gear and find a new way to pass time...LOL

YEA MAN! I was literally having an anxiety attack seeing all the places i wanted to cast, pitch, flip or just drop a line... even with 150 boats on the water the possibilities are almost limitless...

I seen 2 or 3 hundred yard sections of shore line that i could literally fish for over and hour and still think i missed a lot of potential bites. Lots of new coves, bays, inlets, and points that need to be named the lake is sooo much bigger and with far more potential than before. I fished DV a few times in its opening months and from what i seen today the new San V will blow it away.

LOL @BadBilly ... @fisheromen was talking about washing the smell of the skunk from the OTHER San Diego lakes (ie Sutherland) from the boats before launching at San V. :D

Is it possible to get a map or some kind of visual that we can look at before we get there? You know, showing where the lanes, entry, parking, etc etc are. That will eliminate a lot of confusion day of.

Google Maps is very accurate, considering...just follow Moreno Ave from the Circle K on Willow Rd, hang a right at the Vigilante Rd intersection.. it shows both parking lots (below and at the top), the ramp, and most of the lake details as it is full..

All those car/boats merging into one lane at the booth is gonna be classic. I'm sure there will be people not together in line and that will cause gaps between launches. I'm on Linebig program, why wait in line for 3 hrs to launch. Calling multiple battery failures and stuck cars looking to be jumped just throwing wrenches in everyones wheelhouse. Be getting there after the storm and leaving when they kick me off the lake. Hope all stay safe and respect each other getting onto the lake. There will be plenty of fish biting all day.

Each lane is numbered, so there will be no merging. Lane 1 goes, then lane 2, 3 and 4 etc.

I got confirmation that Rocky Mountain Rec has reached an agreement with lake staff to allow a stand by line after all the origional 150 ticket master permits have passed through. This means that once all of those have passed through a secondairy line will be allowed to form and get first come first serve access to any rental boats left over. These will not have to have in possession a ticket master ticket. They will be allowed to purchase a general rec. Ticket at the gate then go to concessions for a rental boat.
***these spots will be first come first serve and only allowed after all the staging lines have cleared and those customers gave been satisfied.***
At that time if there are rentals available, additional customers will be allowed through untill all rental boats are gone.

The City does not make money off the rentals....the permit money for those sales would be negligible in the overall sales for a day; the decision was made as stated-an agreement with Rocky Mtn to be sure that they would be able to see the full potential of their rental fleet.

Can I park my vehicle overnight on Vigilante, in the area where Day laborers park that work at the construction companies by the lake? My buddy is in line with his boat and my ticket and I need to meet him tonight, need a place to park so I can skate to the staging area. Thanks!
