Went up to the Lower Owens in mid-Nov for a couple days in the drift boat. We had a super good time drifting/fishing the entire river from the lower part of the Wild Trout Section down to Line St. Other than a few guides a lot of this water rarely gets touched and we didn’t see a single fisherman in 3 days of fishing. Lucked out with weather in the mid 60’s and light winds each day. We had a fun mix of 8”-14” browns and rainbows with 30-40 fish per day. Most fish came on small streamers and nymphs but we did get a few on BWO’s dries during the mid day hatch. We ran into tons of wildlife floating the river as well. Deer, Owls, Peregrine Falcon, and River Otters. Always a fun time floating the Lower O!
