I've been spending way too much time on land lately so I stopped by H and M on the way home from work on the off chance there would be some folks around and possibly put money down on a future trip. The office wasn't open but I did get to see a couple of friends from our local fishing community. What blew me away was seeing the kayak rentals going on right at the bottom of the dock. Needless to say, I am booked on a hobie for 0900. Looking forward to getting out, tight lines.

Headed down to the dock directly after work, changed clothes and it was westward bound. Got there early and saw movement in the wheelhouse on the Premier, so I went and caught up with Brandon for a bit. Things are moving in a positive direction, and we will be back within the next week I believe. Said my goodbyes and walked the twenty feet to talk with the guy working the EcoBoats rental guy. Russ was pretty chill, knowledgable and patient. It helped because I'm new to the kayak game and was feeling a little unsure of my skills at the helm. Trolled out of Americas Cup Harbor with a few short bites but nothing that stuck. I ended up with a dozen or so spotties, two sandbass and nice sized sargo. I had a great time and will definitely do business with them, recommending them to all that I meet. Talk about situational awareness, some of those following seas are heavy rollers holy $heet! Until the spotties are running again, EcoBoats will be my goto. Now I will have to leave earlier and manufacture a way to carry livebait. This may be a new adventure, tight lines and following seas my friends.

Nice, Redjim ... Way to get them. As we get into the season, the mouth of ACH will just gain biomass...

The bait won't last all day but a bubbler in a home depot bucket does well for keeping bait alive while shore fishing.

Dog food container, flex tubing, bubbler and a battery. You have the makings of a DIY live bait well.

Put some mesh in and use plastidip to protect the baits...

I could get into so much trouble with Plastidip.

I was at Angler's Choice yesterday and they had a couple different livebait wells available for purchase, I meant to take pictures to give you some ideas but forgot.

I never tried the tubes, mine was more like if you google "DIY hobie livewell," and it looked almost exactly like the $400.00 dollar one that Hobie sells for less than $100.00, might have been less than $50.00 rod holders, a battery and pump and even a simple on/off switch.
