Fished off the rocks in Mission Bay yesterday and today, both days from around 8-10:30am. Yesterday, 2 rock wrasse, a seniorita and 2 calicos. Today, 4 rock wrasse, 2 calicos, an opaleye and a nice Sculpin at 13". All fish caught on shrimp. There were lots of boils near the middle of the channel, threw LC into them when reachable several times but no takers on the flash minnow. Fish and game stopped me near the end of my session and checked my liscense and inspected my fish. Kept 4 wrasse and the sculpin. Fish tacos on the menu tonight..

A smelt pattern. Thought about switching to my sardine pattern surf pointer for the extra distance and depth, but retrieving that back over the rocks would probably be problematic.

Ran a spider hitch today after watching your video on it. I like it alot, easy to tie and the knot helps the hook stay away from the main line better than a surgeons or dropper loop.
I think i got bit/thieved on almost every cast this morning (for the bait rod, not the LC). Its always nice watching guys on skiffs wiff and jealously watch pull in fish after fish hahaha

Ive had most luck on shinier patterns during the day in MB.. Been lots of barracuda biting recently so the shiny patterns slay during the day. Id definitely stay away from using the surf pointer by rocks.. You only need to lose one 13 dollar lure to learn that lesson..
