Got down to Bahia point around 11:30. Was pretty stoked as I don’t get to fish mission/sd bay too often. Started at twelve on a 3.2 low, rising to a high of 5.5 at 5:30. Water was 71 and the visibility was probably 5-10’. Was determined to hit some spotties on swimbaits. Started with a 4 1/2” blue/black keitech on a 3/8 oz underspin. Switched to a 1/16 owner hook with fat 5” keitech in green/brown. Finally picked off a couple with a 3” fat keitech in baby bass on a 1/4 oz weedless warbaits head. The bite was good, got two and lost a couple that thrashed my plastics. Lost focus and wandered past the sandbar/weed patch at the end of Ventura cove that was producing, started throwing crocs for halibut, and ended my day at 2:00. Girlfriend picked up the winning rig that was catching fish and got a spotty on the first cast. Sometimes you should stick with what’s working I guess. From dj thrillz write up on mb, I could see I was in/close to that magical tidal convergence zone on a weak low to high tide. Maybe it’s a better area than when there’s a crazy tidal swing ripping through there? Thoughts?
