Friday, fished off San Carlo area. Lost, a good fish, maybe a small halibut. Head shakes like halibut. Broke line at jig. Chartreuse Hair Raiser. Went to other pole, Vanford 2500 and 10# braid. Small leadhead and clear sparkle tail with red stripe, a couple nice spotties, a couple lost, lost first jig tail on first fish, had spares. Did not have sonar on the yak, so don’t know temperature. Nice, not too warm or cold.

That light braid line never causes you trouble in the wind or cuts your hands up?

Wind gets it at times, but seems to be strong enough to pull the jig out of the eel grass. I normally just point the rod at the snag and use the reel to pull. If I had to pull by hand, would wrap around my pliers to pull.
