Mission Beach near 530 am

    I will be just north of the MB jetty near 530ish am. Testing a new rod and reel that will happen to have some type of bait/ lure on end of it. Lol

    How did it go & is it still socked in with salad? Was there 2 weeks ago & the stuff was ridiculous, not fishable.

    No salad at all. Got there a lot later than expected (745) got 2 spotfin croaker and what I think is a huge mullet. Also got 2 small 20191015_122257.jpg 20191015_120636.jpg 20191015_122257.jpg 20191015_120636.jpg hali and 5 walleye.

    the mullet was a huge surprise. I am certain that it was a mullet. The bait is very similar to gulp sandworms but they are skinnier and from Japan/China.

    I saw a fella who had two big mullet at OB pier. Caught on bloodworm. I never knew you could catch mullet at all, let alone in the surf.

    I am from MS and we would catch Mullet on all types of worm. However, I have never seen on caught in SD before.

    Saw a school well over 50 mullet swimming through the channel into the bay the other weekend. Biggest school I’ve ever seen.

    Back when I used to paddle board the lagoon in Cbad (the back 3rd section) I'd see mullet jumping all the time. This year saw them jumping in the surf for the first time multiple times. Surprised you caught one, that's cool!
