A buddy of mine saved a spot on the Mission Belle for a charter, and couldn't pass up on it! Started out the day as usual, around a 2 hour boat ride out to the grounds. First stop was early in the day, no fish wanted to play except for 1 YFT on the flat fall. Kept going, and stopped on a school, started to boil. We were the lucky boat, found the right fish that wanted to cooperate! Ended up with 8 YFT for the day, and plenty of good laughs and excitement! It was insane watching the crew put on a clinic of how to catch fish! Everytime I looked over, the crew was handing off a rod, hooking another bait, and handing another rod off! What worked - 20-25lb line, size 1 or 1/0 hooks, picking a good, lively bait and constantly changing your baits. Most bites were within 30 seconds. Lastly, pay attention to where the fish are, both boils and who's hooking up.
