    Saw a ton of fish jumping out of the water. Any idea what they are? I couldnt catch anything but a little halibut

    Yea just found that out. To similar for me thats never caught either and either way adding another species to the list for me. also no skunk, so its win win haha

    Those jumping fish were probably mullet.. pretty tough to catch on hook and line

    Was at mission Bay last night with lots of boils and fish jumping out of the water. I think it's the grunions running from predators.

    Literally solid boil and bait balls from the house all the way to the point. Nothing but plan sized macks last weekend. Blew my mind..

    Tasty damn things.. I think they are more common than supposed, it's just that they have such a small mouth, that they are not caught often by most anglers

    I have, two whole times in my life, caught a limit of decent to nice ones... Twice... I had to work my behind off to make it happen though
