Great campsites right on the water, nice launching ramp, fish just about any spot, and the best part is there are no fees!

Nice variety of fish there! Plus a nice morning before you left. Never been out that way. I'll have to add it to my bucket list. Thanks for the report and pics.

That lake is awesome and can be tricky. Can be wide open one day and next day super tough. There are some swamp donkeys in there, I lost a giant on a hud. Heart breaker. There are also giant anacondas in there. Well, giant black snakes, I saw one that was like a sea serpent, scared the crap out of me at first in the murky water.

Also, right next door is betty’s kitchen which is the river and can be really good. Watch out for the submerged rock bars with the trolling motor. Never tubed betty’s.

Yep thanks. They all fight hard. LMB are the heaviest, SMB jump the most, and the stripers are half bonito.

SMB are by far the most likely to come unbuttoned, they never stop thrashing. I hooked several on topwater lures, they all came off.

Awesome! Glad you are doing better, Bill! Sutherland is tough this year but still pulling some quality fish.

Thought this trip was as good as your one about 10 days ago. Then noticed, it was your trip from 10 days ago. Major brain fart. Have not been out there in a few years, mostly do the Delta or Clearlake nowadays, need to get out there again. Frog bite at dusk this time of year is off the charts.
