The streams feeding Morena are still flowing. When I get a chance to run over there I'll check on how much water has been added to the dry side.

Sadly, goat island will never be an island again if I had to guess... Carp at Morena should get a little bigger this year though

Showing your age talking about goat island. Used to get home from work and load my wadders and rod in my Baja bug and head up for a couple hours fishing, also used to head back there first thing when I took my boat and no crowds

I was up there a couple years ago and could not believe the water lines on the rocks! Not half the lake it once was! Seems they have permanently moved the ramp.

Winter before last it actually recovered some. It even filled in some of the "lost side". People on the street above me could even see the lake from their homes again. But one hot summer took care of that. What I wouldn't give for three rainy winters in a row. If the weather will clear on a day I am home I'll cruise down the street and check it out closely down there. I am still trying to get used to the winter temp change to up here. It's COLD outside!

Have they built a new launch ramp, would love to fish the back end again but knowing the water dept they will drain it down

They have a dirt ramp - pretty small and rough. I have not heard it's open so it is still hand launch boats only. No new ramp built and when I was there today I drove up the old ramp and it is still a loooong way from the water. San Diego said they weren't going to drain it again. Do I believe them? NO.

    THE "DRY" SIDE.

THIS AREA WAS NEARLY DRY. NOT ANY MORE.

The last trout stock was 2 weeks ago and it was the last one. I spoke to one angler who had caught a couple carp. He wasn't targeting trout.

Will not build a ramp and the fishing will be wild if you had a boat

They rent boats. Weekdays are $30 - Weekends are $50 - Seniors and disabled get discounts and you can rent for a half day also.

. Don’t see myself renting when I have a bass boat. Maybe they will get the ramp done

Just a bit more rain and the lower ramp should open. I am still doing daily rain dances.
