September 18th was our anniversary, 48th. Movie tickets not bad, matinee showing.
But check out the prices for a large popcorn and a medium Icee drink.
We saw IT2, I jumped two or three times. That helps to keep the heart pumping. LOL

No, we didn't even finished what we had.
I think that it was leftovers from the night before. It wasn't that fresh or hot.

I don't mind paying high prices for popcorn. But if it's cold and stale , not cool.

I guess that is where the theaters actually make their money, not on the tickets themselves. Pricey for sure, but hey it’s only money after all :)

Yup, she doesn't like mushy movies.
Action movies for her, the more violence the better. LOL
She likes the John Wicks movies, revenge movies are her favorite.

Congrats. I heard an interview of someone married 50yrs or something. He was asked what is the trick? the secret for a long marriage? He said: "Every morning when I wake up, I look to my wife and I say ' I'm Sorry ' "

Wife always looks forward for the popcorn, but this time it was really bad.
That's why I wear cargo pants with all of the pockets for snacks.
Something new at the Regal theater here. You pay for your tickets at the concession stand for the matinee showings. No ticket booth people, no one at the entrance to take your ticket and tell you which theater. You even have to pick out your seats when buying the tickets and it's printed on your ticket.
Regal theaters have something new, unlimited movies. The lease expensive starts at $18 per month and goes up from there, you can Google it. But you have to commit for one year. If you go to the movies a lot that's not a bad deal.
For the both of us it would be $36. You would have to see three movies a month to break even. But then new movies don't come out that often.

My wife and I are going to do this starting in November (to capture the holiday movies). However, if you look closely, you need to be on the $23.50 per month level to access most local theaters. I think the pricing is regional, so there are lots of California regions that have participating theaters that accept the lowest pricing tier. However, all of the ones near our house are the $23.50 tier. Anyway, my wife has read up on it and people are really enjoying it. They say it's super easy to use. Nice to just be able to go to ANY movie you want and not worry about price.

We just go to the one in Escondido so I think that it's good for there. We'll have to look into it more.
Another benefit is that you get 10% off of their lousy popcorn. LOL

Funny I have to think about that, but spending money on a sporty trip is like a no brained for me :).

This is from the Regal Unlimited website. The colors represent the level of membership required at each location. Pink is the least expensive tier, blue is the $23.50 tier.

Then, it lists the States and all of the theaters within that state. Here's the Escondido location:

Anyway, it still sounds like a great program, and nice that the concessions are discounted a bit. Looking forward to seeing LOTS of movies.

    Tight lines, amigo.

Thanks, still on the fence but leaning towards getting it.
If we get the all states one we could use it in Montana.

I hadn't been to a movie for 20 years then I started taking mom a few weeks ago for a day out. My, my, my have theaters changed. The big recliners, cup holders, bar on site. I buy the tickets a week or so in advance. We have been going to AMC. The concessions have always been crazy but it's $30.00 for mom and I. They have warm caramel corn and good popcorn.

I had a friend who owned a theater years ago and he verified that the cost of tickets covers the movie rental then any and all profit for the theater is from the snacks. The best part about knowing the owner was watching the movies from that secret room up by the projection room. Kicking back on the couch and smoking and drinking what ever you want. That was a party!

I have the AMC A-List club you get to see 12 movies a month (I have never seen more than 4 movies a month, the great thing is you can make your reservations and pick your seat on line, you can go to any showing and don’t have to go to a matinee you be able to afford it and you don’t stand in any lines even when you get your popcorn and drinks so it pretty cool we bring a small flask with wine and my wife even sneaks a beer in and some snacks so we get out of there reasonably cheap, not waiting in line for anything is hard to beat.
