Was on the lake by 6:15. Fished points and adjacent shoreline with 6" MMs Texas rigged. This time I remembered to bring my phone. Started off real slow until about 9:30 My first fish was almost as big as the one I caught earlier this week, 20 inches and all of 5 lbs if not more. Jumped 3 times way out of the water. Had me praying to Jeasus but I landed her. Had several drinks and a couple of 3 pounders. All told 7 caught and about that many that I lost. Great morning. I love this lake! 20190824_101550.jpg 20190824_104923.jpg 20190824_101554.jpg 20190824_104530.jpg

I use the steel hook on a plastic clothes hanger. I bend the hook back on itself to make an eye, then I crimp the small existing hook onto the new hook. A stiff piece of wire will also work.

Edit: The wire shown is OK for fish to about 5 lbs. Might be iffy after that. I have found that the galvanized bucket handles on most 5 gallon buckets are sturdy and yet workable for hooks. Probably just need a small vice and a pair of pliers. You can also delete the middle hook and go straight to the little welded ring on the scale.

I have only fished there 4 times but have done well every time. It gets a lot of pressure so you gotta fish slow. The fish in Murray have a very soft mouth. It is hard to know you are getting a hit. The grass doesn't help
    matters.

I was in a Tracker 175 Black, with a buddy. There was also another guy there in a Black Tracker 175, but he was alone. I had a friend with me. I was wearing a long sleeve white shirt.

Nice going! I was out there for a quick trip Sun morning but couldn’t get anything. My first skunk in awhile there. I only made it till 10:30 though before I started melting in my kayak. I was very envious of the float tubers I saw!!

I have to say the bass at Murray have the best flavor of any lake. I believe it's the depth of the lake which keeps water cooler. Your right bite has been great lately. Getting limits

There's the deal! The grass dampens the feel of the bite, then they swallow the bait! Do you use braid with a leader? The braid allows you to feel the subtle bites.

Not on all my rods, just my bait caster. I have yet to have a fish swallow my worm at Murray. I'm pretty good about keeping good contact with the bait. I do understand the benefits of branded line and increased sensitivity. Just haven't broke out the braided since I'm at 70-80% bite to catch. Good recommendation! Thanks for looking out Fishermon!

Great report! Are you using straight fluorocarbon? I've been using braid to fluorocarbon to ds.

I've seriously thought about cutting off my old leaky waders at the knee.
