    I wish
I tubed around Murray during the late mornings for 2-3 hours on various days the last couple weeks and heres what I found. The fish have been busting the surface chasing bait during the early mornings, some days a bit more than others. (That alone made being out on the water very exciting! This would last until around 10am typically) I tried topwaters, flukes, spoons and swimbaits but getting those fish to commit to much was tough! The water level has been rising and the warming water temperature seems to have started an algae bloom in some areas. After some trial and error, I figured out that if you were at least in an area where the fish were busting, I could usually slow down and pick a couple off with slower presentations.

I kept myself pretty limited out there and only had the one rod I was using. This made fishing the busting fish a little bit harder since I typically had a bottom oriented bait tied on most of the time. My one-two punch was slowing down with a t-rig and dragging various worms and creature baits along the bottom when I knew I was in the right areas. And if I happened to be close enough to cast on some busters, I would quickly retie with an underspin/spoon or simply throw a keitech on the t-rig I had set up and slow rolled it.

What was working for me mainly was really slowing down and breaking down the areas. Depth and grass became a major factor and I found that most the fish I caught were 10-15 yards off the bank/tully lines sitting in around 12-15 ft of water. I did catch a couple flipping uptight to cover, and a couple throwing into busters, but the majority of the fish would hit while I was dragging/working baits in the grass lines parallel to the bank. Over the course of the last couple weeks, I caught an average of about 3-4 fish in the 2-3 hours I would spend out there. My high for a day was 7 fish and my low was the last time I went out where I admittedly skunked. Below are way too many pictures:

    Nice report.
Some of those bass look very skinny & underfed.
Food for them must be hard to find in Murray...
