With Turkey season taking up a significant portion of my spring I always try to get a head start on fishing. With the crappy weather gone, the crappie have come out to play. I watched this school under shad in February, and followed them to the nearest point and cove the last couple weeks. Hard bottoms with access to deep water. All nice models, beautiful fish, good eats. Oh yeah..the bass fishing is ok too but that's kinda boring. Tight lines, go fishing.

I see you did well on the spots but how did you do on the turkey? I have not pulled a trigger or pulled my bow back in the year and a half that I have been here. Sure miss the Southern hunting season.

Beautiful fish, Eric. That lake is exploding with all the new water isn't it? I should have targeted crappie this week and waited a week or so on the redear.

And what lake might that be? I have fished almost all the lakes in our county and that one doesn't look familiar to me.

As a group, most crappie fishermen are not happy about giving up their spots, so I won't tell you where I think it is. But I will say that you were on track when you said you did not recognize it as one of our county lakes.
