He's the only one to vote down the sportfishing bill, if you live in San Diego make him and his wife go by,by. There not for you.

It was not a sport fishing bill, why does everyone think that it was? It wasn't even a bill, it was about writing a letter to the Governor to ask permission to make opening decisions for the county for a set group of things and then of course people started to add things to the agreed upon list so he voted no. The letter will still be sent to the State and if approved, they will hold the vote again for reopening and it will go 4-1 again and things will open.

It looks like even some of the boat captains/owners and landings didn't understand what this was for and they were probably mislead by others.

Uhhhh...I didn't vote for him and I'm not saying that his "No" vote was correct, I'm explaining the situation since the majority of people making statements don't get it. I'm also from here and do fish on boats as often as I can so I'm not sure why you made those statements.

Read the information that I provided and do with it what you will.

Another thing, they voted to send the letter and IF the Governor responds before their next meeting on the 23rd then they will vote...can't see the boats fishing until the very end of the month unfortunately.

That is correct. The vote was to send a letter to the Governor asking San Diego County be permitted to:

    1) reopen gyms,
    2) hotels,
    3) nail salons,
    4) wineries and breweries,
    5) churches at full capacity,
    6) theme parks,
    7) youth sports,
    8) charter and fishing boats
    9) community pools, and
    10) museums

Sportfishing is 1 of 10 businesses mentioned.

Fletcher voted no because he has issue with churches at full capacity - "I could not support the calls by my colleagues to reopen higher risk entities like churches at full capacity immediately"

Hopefully each item is decided individually with their own specific risk mitigation guidelines instead being grouped as a whole.

Even if he does vote no again, depending on the governance rule (majority vote only), it may not even matter. It may ultimately be decided by the public health officer as some stated anyways.

Uhhh, who says we don’t get it?! Pretty much all of my post was directed to that fake POS and his tv appearances pandering to blacks and bashing trump. Fake as fake can be pretending to understand their plight

From my understanding they could have voted to authorize Sportfishing, but they punted it to the governor. At least that’s how it was explained to me. We could be fishing tomorrow.. Also the health board now has the ultimate say on whether we can go, so she can kill it. Waiting until the end of the month is unacceptable and detrimental to many small businesses which rely on Sportfishing. I will be writing some emails!

That is incorrect, it was never about a single type of activity or business, and it was never about them allowing it or not. A lot of misinformation has been spread around by some people and as I said earlier it was even spread to Captains of some of the boats and to the landings, a few of them corrected their posts once informed with the correct information.

He does seem to love the spotlight. On the news every chance he gets. Bet you he is gearing up to ramp up his career to at least Mayor.
I wrote him and all of the other county supervisors about restoring fishing. I got a "we got your input" type response from one of his aides. The only one that actually responded (personally, and nicely) was Kristin Gaspar. I'll be voting for her.

I mean... From my understanding of those present at the meeting, it was a situation where a group said “well if he gets this, I want that”. A lot of the phase three business and groups have non taxable income... at least be happy that you could have access to that. If you have to forego a certain income or maximizing income, who cares. At least your employees or association gets some type of income.

It was standard politics, there was a set group of activities and business types that were originally going to be in it and then people started to want all of "Stage 3" activities and businesses. I really hope that adding all of those doesn't screw up our request to the state.

It’s like, if can break even while paying employees, you’re not going to bankrupt. You’re not putting money away but at least you have customers and employees staying afloat. If you have straight green stuff... it can go a distance too.

4A8DC316-2CEE-4555-989D-914FB2102716.png Uh oh, I got a “disagree” lol. Must be a Fletcher fan amongst us. I just found this on another site, so I took a screenshot of another SD fisherman’s opinion on Fletcher, one that also is not based on the most recent events. It’s just clear to see thru that POS if your eyes are open even a little bit
