I read that the National Guard was patrolling the beaches. Is this true?

Not sure but it may be related to this.

Good thing fishing is a solo activity!

Good. Del Mar beach was packed these past few days from what I've seen on social media. I think we should be still okay to fish, but be prepared to be asked to return home.

probably not true, I have not seen any warnos or activation orders. I also know some guys from other Cav units and MPs, I have not heard anything other than getting pre-activation paperwork done. I saw some units in LA are working food shelters, that is all.

I saw three trucks parked in the lot at Pipes on Saturday. Not sure what they were doing, but didn't look like anything official.

Local police emptied and blocked all OB beach parking lots. Yesterday they were denying surfers on foot entry. Today an officer told someone locals could walk the beach but no cars and no gatherings of any size besides households

So I can park on the street right next to the closed parking lot and walk/fish on the beach?

There is cops on foot at the beach entrances right now, they are allowing solo people through, so should be good to fish as long as you're alone.

Well, ****...mayor announced at 3:30 closure of all beaches, parks and trails. That's probably the end of that...

Got pics of some of their snipers on the beach, fish at your own risk. upload_2020-3-23_22-59-36.png

I don’t think the city of SD has any say so over state parks

You're correct, state owned land is open for now, but all SD county beaches are locked down. I hear the same for MB and the parts of SD bay. They've been out hard enforcing in OB and sunset cliffs.

Do some fishing for me but stay safe. I'm too far inland to try and sneak out fishing anymore.
