This week, the California Assembly’s Appropriations Committee voted unanimously to support a licence that expires a year after the date of purchase.

While the legislation still has to overcome several hurdles before reaching Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk, this week’s vote by one of the legislature’s most influential committees is the strongest sign yet that it will be passed into law.

Only if Newsom can attach an additional tax to it.

Yippee! Unless they make it more expensive because of it.

No doubt they will. As a point of interest; in Arizona a resident can purchase a fishing license for only $37. Non-resident costs $55. A resident hunting/fishing license is only $57. And a non-resident hunting/fishing license is $160.

I believe this state is the most expensive for a resident license.

All of these are reasons why I will be quite pleased if I do go through with moving back to arizona lol. Many more reasons besides, but still definitely many reasons.

See you back here in the summers tho?

J/K - I almost made that move about 10 years ago and would ultimately be fully retired now had I pulled the trigger.

If I were to move back to AZ, it would be a strong possibility I kept a property or two here in town. That said, moving to AZ could well have me retired by about 40-45. Family ties are what keep us here right now.

This is what kept us initially, well that and an unfortunate scenario involving my wife stuck on the 101 on a brisk 116* day in a car with a sub-standard A/C...
