I say on the cuyamaca fish report that they just put a bunch of new sturgeon in the lake. Anyone know anything about this?

The report pretty much said it all. They will be decent size in 2 years. The first ones planted a long time ago get caught every now and then. Probably all c and r.

Any information to share about what kind of catch rates the sturgeon in there have? Which species (I would guess lake sturgeon)? Any other intel you would be willing to share?

They Purchased 100 10-12" fish. They are white sturgeon. They warn you when you buy your permit about releasing any sturgeon caught. They put 94 in the pond and the other 6 are in the growing pens at the boathouse. I talked to a guy that caught one of the earlier plants. He caught a 48" fish on Ghost shrimp. They are good people working up there.

According to the lake website there is a slot limit. Under 40 and over 60 inches must be released.

....and yeah, ghosties are da shizzle for a lot of the guys I saw sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River. Along the World Famous Deschutes River, a few guys also told me the "sand shrimp" were their favorite bait for steelhead as well.
