I enjoyed the trout fishing during winter when I lived in norcal. Now that im in the Carlsbad area, I wanted to see which lakes around socal that plants trout. Any tips would be great. I usually throw mini jigs and trout worms.

Just about every major lake in the county plants trout. Dixon and Wohlford are closest to you--Dixon is better suited to mini jigs due to clear water, but you'll have more space at Wohlford as it's much bigger

Dixon, Wolford up there.. DVL, jennings and santee get a few nicer trout if I remember right.. a few spots around SD get those little dfg stockers, like chollas, Murray, etc

No fishing license at Dixon but you will need to purchase a fishing permit, $5 I believe. If your a senior citizen no charge to enter the park.
But you'll still to get the permit to fish.
