Old boy just about needs dentures. I dont keep many, but this is my biggest this year at just under 28"

Head winds or stingrays been killing any of my attempts of LC's this year, so been standing back and sailing jigging spoons out there (very far). 2 attempts so far, 1 heavy fish bit me off, and this hali yesterday.

Dam what a solid beast! What’s your retrieve for the spoons? Bouncing off the bottom or constant retrieve? I don’t normally use spoons but now I’m convinced on adding one or two to my tackle. Any brand recommended?

This was more jig style, spoons were still catching too much wind for launching. And current was heavy so yeah keep it on the bottom and fish it a bit with rod tip.

Nice catch - that thing is huge. Curious about which beach - for the sake of being open.

I believe majority of the San Diego county beaches are open to fishing again. It’s the matter of finding parking.

Haha, wrong fella. Think i might give up on the jigging spoon, its dredging too much and i feel Im missing some fish cuz its picking up bean clams constantly. Fog isnt as thick, visibility is good and water is getting warmer to bare foot it out there soon.
