Same thing just happened to me a couple days ago, they must have moved into the bay or are eating more now?

Nice fish. Like how it matches the dawia t3. How do you like that reel?

And does it have the T Wing system, and is yours 8:1 retrieve. Great looking reel there man.

It is a very good reel, I purchased it because of the frame, it has a zaion frame which I figured would last longer in saltwater compared to aluminium. It is also lighter.
Yes it does have a T Wing, it is hidden under the hood of the reel that pops up when the clutch is engaged, and yes it is 8.1.

Ty for the compliments on the reel.

No minimum size, limit ten. Ghost or market shrimp chunks on a number six or four hook, bait on or near bottom somewhere sandy with some current..

Some of the boaters of years gone by would use a sabiki tipped with shrimp and a wine cork at the top to keep it vertical, bumping along bottom as they drifted halibut off Zuniga. Small ones went back down on the hali rigs, big ones got tossed in the cooler...

I was thinking to try also a sabiki with a buck tail for the weight.

I’ve caught a few recently too. They’re fun fighting fish; less head shakes but they seem to zip around a lot more than bass.
