I have eaten many, of several types. By far the best with the greatest meat yield are snappers and softshells (pictured here in my report, and widely available in the Imperial Valley where I love to fish), some of the best soup meat available in North America..

LMAO.. I earned that nickname when showing a guy from sdfish how I go about fishing the jetty.. I think he called me that as a joke, and the nickname just stuck.. Think Jenx might have been present for the occasion, come to think?

Nice. Thought maybe you coached youth football or basketball or something. But “coach”, I’m sure the nickname was well earned here. Cool beans!

FOE_RUNNER - This is definitely something you should take him up on. And if its on the cliffs for the sunset he might not get you killed even. And you will learn things you may never have thought of lol

Softshells are delicacy for Chinese, Vietnamese, and other Asian. I saw 99 Ranch Market or the old Vien Dong Market carried them before. Next time if you hook one you let me know. I'll bring the beers.

But it’s only a matter of time before PETA decides to “save the turtles!” LOL!

I saw some crawfish at ranch99.....”save the mud bugs!”

Once my back gets better.. Turtles of the IV beware! Imma coming for ya! Lol.. I usually post my IV report in the catfish section, if you want, just follow over there, I sort of spearhead a group of diehards that prowl out that way

I thought he coached, "Don't overthink it. Get a stick, a piece of string, bend a nail into a hook, and you're fishing. Get out there!" And it works. (The fishing part anyway. I'm a little slow on the uptake with the catching part) :emoji_ok_hand:

I have seen a great many folk overcomplicate things.. Fishing, in essence is the idea that a wild animal can come into our possession.. These days, with 13948938372678 lure types and designs, people forget about just getting something edible in front of the fish and making it happen.. To my view, anyone can pay 10,000$ to catch some fish, while some guy out in the islands on the backside of nowhere who makes his own line, hooks, weights, lures and bait catches more fish.. Which one is more of a fisherman?
