striper.jpg wsb.jpg srrippers.jpg hali.jpg hali2.jpg hali3.jpg This week past was a great week if you hit the surf in N. County. I fished from the O'side jetty down to N.Ponto Halibut was definitely on the table fare mostly shorts but did manage a couple legals throwing oversized redrums tube baits in the 5 inch size and bouncing them off structure from shore. LC's did some damage too The normal appetizers were doing ok but really didn't have time to pursue those but saw a ton of corbina caught . What literally caught me completely off guard was 3stripers in a matter of 2 hours The largest running 28lbs and the others in the high teens low 20. Been trying to find them again but so far no showing of boils. Here are a couple pics. hali.jpg hali2.jpg

Great haul on those stripers; from photos looks like fishing after dark or was it before AM light?

WOW!! TWNOEL111 - Totally amazing!! I've read reports for years up here in the north county beaches on the stripers. Now more pics to prove that they do live in our local waters!!

I can see the assault beach pounding. Great report.

It was after 9:00. My buddy called and said he saw them boiling. I dropped what I was doing because nothing is that important and flew there.

Even though I usually throw LC's they were chasing mullet so i used salt pro minnow 15f for bigger profile still diving only 1-2feet The damn thing is about 7 in
long but weighs 1.2 ozs Kind of a ghost sardine pattern.

Thanks guys for all your replies to my post.. On a side note, until last year I really thought striper fishing in SoCal was finding a lost fish once in a blue moon. Last year I scored big time I thought when I caught 4 in a whole year. Now this epic session. I wish I could tell you more about where or how to find these fish but I cant figure it out beyond keeping a lookout with your friends on boiling action of feeding fish off your local jetties and or structure where stripers can ball the selected target and push them against a structure to feed. When the call comes be ready.....
