Any fish in the pond there? Google maps satellite imagery doesn't look too promising, but you never know.

I didn't know that there was a pond near Oak Grove campground, which is actually in Sunshine Summit just east of Palomar mountain. It's a very nice campground though.

I know they stock Doane Pond with trout a couple times a season but that's not what you're talking about I don't think. If you don't get word through the forum, I would call the ranger up there. They've been very nice and informative in the past.

Not much more than a mudhole last year when we went. Overgrown with tullies and only about 3 places you could even cast from shore. But it had trout in it! And at least they didn't taste nasty like dirty Dixon trout.

There are a couple of small ponds near Oak Grove campground, but they are both on private property. The one closest to the campground is also right next to a house. So no access to those.

That's what it seemed like on my second look, too. Thanks
