So if I show up right now or tomorrow or at all this weekend with money for a rental boat but no ticketmaster ticket I'll be allowed to fish?

Come on, someone has to post a couple pictures of the crowds on the lake!

Wouldn't he need a general fishing permit from ticketmaster just to get up there

Ticketmaster does not sell fishing permits you have to purchase those at the lake

As long as there are rental boats you can get on. You can buy your general pass at the lake if you say you are renting a boat. Just call ahead to find out if there are boat rentals available. Lori posted the number earlier, here it is again: 619-390-1918. They will only let you in once all of the actual ticket holders have come in and they know for sure boats are going to be available. So you won't know until 8-9 AM. Once that line is gone, then they can start letting people in on a first come first serve basis. The info is all over the forum, but scattered. So I figured I would put it all here for those asking.

So now I am wondering if I have a friend come to the lake after they open, pay for parking and fishing permit and come fish on my boat is that allowed? Or is it only allowed if he is renting a boat?

    Thanks.

They said they will only let people in if they are renting a boat. That was the only way they would allow someone else in. So I don't think they would allow that.

The rentals are both part of and seperate from Ticketmaster. Those with Ticketmaster tickets will get first shot at rental availability. Once the line below has cleared (today it was around 8:00? 9:00?) any vehicles WITHOUT a Ticketmaster ticket wishing to get in to RENT a boat will be allowed up equivalent to how many rentals they have available. They will be stopped at the booth and pay for their fishing permits there before going up. IF there are no rentals available they can wait in line for one to become available.

Got in line at 445, launched kayak around 630ish. Caught a dozen on the fly rod but had to bail at 11. Was windy from the get go. Lots of boats along the shore but it was very civilized. Quality fish but not a epic day, but I will take quality any day. No fish was less than 2lbs, biggest scaled at 4lbs.

Had a great day. I launched from a kayak but from what I could tell boat launching was super smooth. Fished the south side and ended with 11. Things I saw. 1. Top water bite is on first thing in the morning. 2. I used senkos 10-15 feet till 10 and did well. 3. After 10 fish are down deep. Fished a Texas rigged curl tail at the end of the day (1-2) and did really good over rock piles. As mentioned above lots of quality fish.

You will have to wait for all those who purchased tickets through ticket master to go through the gate first but as soon as the line clears... yes that is correct.

If that's true, then why did I go to ticket master and buy a general admission pass with plans on renting a boat when i got there? Totally confused.
