It was a great day, got there yesterday evening in line. I have to say everything went very smoothly. Thanks to all the staff on hand that made it great. I ended the day with 17 and my buddy ended with 23. All fish being 2-5 pounds. I'm glad I didn't see or hear of any arguments or fights, only smiling faces and great memories
    Awesome day

You saw Otay Michael's best fish. Mine were just like that only smaller. :) We both caught 17, but we were working mostly shallow water. All the fish I weighed were short of expectations. They had the heads of 6 pounders, but weighed less than 4. Much like Austin's 2nd pic above.
Good fighters, though. The lake is Huge and crystal clear!

Yea they were really really skinny. Winter/Spring time, if there's enough bait to fatten them up, they will be nicer fish.

Grat job to everyone making the opening day happen.

    Very smooth.

We arrived ~6:10am, making our 1st cast ~7:30.

Many 2-4 pounders, my biggest was 6.75 using an Xtools grip n weigh scale

That is a real nice crappie.
I'll be looking for those as well.
Were you targeting them or just by-catch. Depth they were hanging at?

Thanks to the city and all who helped everything went smooth as silk. No problems no attitudes no crowding the lake is huge and beautiful!! My thumb is torn up and my wrist hurts from setting hooks all day!. I caught 32 fish lost a hand full. 10 were between 4.2 to 4.9 and looked like 6 lb bucket mouths! Insane! My partners lost count at 20. The rest were 3 to 4 lbs with mabe 2 small ones. Many doubles, many bass jumping 2 and 3 times. If you threw a sinko and helped your buddy land a fish or take a pic you were hooked up. Paddle tale on the downfall a few times. Clear water in the way back cove and you can see packs of bass hitting your lure and then another one trying to take it away. I had a big bluegill hit a 4" paddle tail. It's was the best day fishing in my 40 years epic epic epic. Stopped taking pics by 9 am due to phone battery low and waiting for something bigger then a 5. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

You guys came by me in my tube and were killing it as you passed! I was across from the aqueduct, on the far side. I should have started fishing deep then, thinking back. I think those fish are starving and thus the crazy bite. Look at all the concave bellies!

Yes I remember you. You caught 2 or 3 by the time we passed you too. Yes a lot of skinny fish. I felt like a 16 year old getting his first date yesterday!

That was epic. Fun day for sure, less chaotic and more organized than I would have thought. Nothing over 5lbs for me but tons of quality 3s and 4s.

Nope, wasn't me. I got dropped off. Pretty sure it is illegal to cross the lake in a tube.

I love all the pictures, thank you to all. I'm hoping to experience some of that on the days I have tickets for. Please tell me most of these fish have been put back in the lake. I never keep Bass.
