1.5 scoops of really crappy bait and was at the 371 by 7:30 with zero boats around. Metered fish right away but no one wanted our trollers. Trolled towards the 425 and stopped on a kelp with mixed skipjack and small yft 5-10#. Someone called out numbers on the 425 and since we were 3 miles away figured we should check it out. “30# grade and they’re almost done”.... turned out to be bs so thanks guy. Made our way back to our kelp for a few more mostly on bait and a couple on colt sniper. Picked a couple more and trolled north. Found a few sporties and PB’rs. Drifted off the side of a PB that was bent and we got a few also. My best fish came on a 60g sniper on this stop maybe 15# yft. We lost probably 50% of our bait over the day and never found the better grade. 3 of us kept 2 skippies and 8-10 yft. Hottest water we saw was 68.4 and has really cleaned up a lot. Great weather, flat swell, good times. Get out there ASAP as the temps are dropping...

Those “30 lb” radio fish always shrink down to 15-20 when they’re back at the ramp, weird!!

We would’ve welcomed consistent 15-20#! Don’t understand why people like wasting their own time and others’.

It’s a lot like the internet. Behind the mask of anonymity, some guys turn into God’s gift to fishing!

Temptation is over powering sometimes, but the old saying, “ never leave fish to find fish “ is what my buddies and I always end up telling ourselves after leaving a good bite to chase a promising radio report for not. The grass is always greener, right ? Lol.

Absolutely. Gotta roll the dice here n there though. Since that spot was mostly skipjack and football yft, it was easier to leave them.

Ya, I get it. Sometimes you’re on a wide open bite of cookie cutter fish ( and they maybe perfectly respectable type fish ), but after you’ve had your fill, you just get that itch to go discover. Right or wrong, it’s an itch that needs scratching. On a wide open bite, we end up going down to 10lb bass rods just for fun, before we end up leaving to see what else we might dig up. That’s the good stuff...
