Oh, I guess that wasn't a snag after all.

I was out at MCR throwing a little swim bait around hoping for a bluegill, maybe some bass. I thought I was hung up on something, since I get hung up there every time I fish that spot, but then it started moving lol. I thought I had foul hooked him, but it looks like he tried to eat it. 4lb test, little 500 size reel, on an ultra light. So fun :D

Have seen carp eat crankbaits, live goldfish, carp strips and bluegill chunks many times.. top baits used in some places include hot dogs and spam. They are more carnivorous than some folks think

I knew they were omnivorous so the chunks of bait doesn't surprise me too much, but the crankbaits and goldfish thing is pretty surprising to me. You learn something new every day!

Can sight cast rapalas to the 30 lb jobs roaming flaming gorge reservoir in WY.. that was some incredible fun on six lb test. I swear the rainbow trout color got them all excited as soon as they saw it.. hahahahahaha

If I so much as glance in the general direction of the big carp that I see in the river they magically vanish. Are they a little less shy over there?
