Decided to post my old Penn reel collection. Been collecting vintage penn reels for about 5 years or so. I have few rare ones such as my 1950's Sailfisher 130 specifically designed for pitching live bait to sail fish in the Sea of Cortez. Or my Penn Seagate which is my oldest, built in 1946 and was only in circulation for about 2 1/2 years or so. I also have a few Ocean City reels hiding in the back presumed to be from the early to mid 1930's. Some of these reels are still in use for me and have caught many good fish. Just figured some of you may enjoy this blast from the past.

I love the old Penns with the maroon sideplates. I have four that are in as new condition with the yellow or green torpedo grips and one has the pawl compartment on the side.. I'm looking to get a maroon side plated #113 and a #109 made for Sears in green one of these days..

Roncador, I have a box of old Penn reels. Some I bought in the late 50's new.
Some from the old Spring Valley swap meet and garage sales.
I have an old Penn Squider and I may have a Penn Long Beach in the mix.
I have a Penn 26 that I found at the swap meet, one of the side plates is green. I wish that it was all green.
I'm in the process of cleaning out the garage, I'll dig out the box and post some pictures. You have a nice collection, I have a few old Penn 500's in there also.

Very nice collection! I have only two, a Squidder and a Jigmaster 500. Both were passed down to me by my Grandfather when he died. Lots of fish blood on those reels! He was a regular on the half day boats. I inherited my propensity to Sea-Sickness from someone else, evidently. :emoji_frowning2:

Great collection there. I love to recondition those old reels. I’ve got a slew of them also, all ready to go.

You need to buy my 350...oh wait...you have one. I have a few Penns because they're pretty. Here's my 350, an aluminum spool Jigmaster and a Monofil 27...sort of a baby Jigmaster.

The only one I ever really used was this Sea Boy 85, which hauled up several guitarfish at the OB pier.
