Met up with Kam and my buddy for a light tackle session in search of some beans, perch, and yfc. Also brought my heavy surf rod possibly in search some some bigger critters. Salad was pretty damn inevitable. Every cast came back with weeds. Kam managed to get himself a YFC that he had gave to me and my buddy to soak. Thanks a ton for that! Even on my 11ft surf rod with a 6oz Sputnik I couldn’t get away from the weeds haha. Threw on the last piece of YFC and was able to actually cast a good distance for once hahahaha sure enough before packing up I got a nice run. Shortly later comes in this chunky Leo. Possibly pregnant or just really fat. Leo season is upon us my friends! I can already tell there’s some big ones in the near future. Called in a night and headed home after that. Hopefully I can get a couple nice session in soon with work and just enrolling in school that starts next month. We shall see....

That was a nice and unusually slimy Leo! I’ll have to bring out the shark rod again when the salad clears up a bit.

It was definitely on the chunkier side and peeled quite a bit of drag for a Leo. Felt pretty heavy but then again I might just be weak. Maybe a little combination of both:emoji_joy:
