To bad the anticoagulant gets transmitted to all of the carrion eaters and birds of prey that might find a sickened rat an easy target . Good observation though ! It is funny as hell !

My brother Is a registered falconer has been since a guy mentored him into the system in the late sixties early seventies . Something about having a 5 foot wingspan Redtail or a Peregrine on your wrist that is just ,,,, Some how cool . Guess I've become soft in my older years . Just wish they would use less invasive tactics , like wide open air rifle pest control , in or out of city limits . The MB jetties would be a blast no pun intended .Cheers ! WR

We have red tail hawks and owls where we live. So no poisoning for killing mice. Just traps.
    Pellet gun for squirrels.

We hammer em with Carbon monoxide and traps, typically... Gen II AC when we have to.. we install owl boxes when possible too.. no matter what, the chemicals rule.. CO has been a serious boon, the gophernator trap too. The 110 conibear is a help too, and cheap... Sometimes chemicals provide the only workable solution...

I have them little traps that electrocute the buggers right then and there. Its not exactly comforting hearing the hum of the capacitors and the targeted rodent squeaking until it is cooked, but its either that or the frustration of our conventional traps being licked clean occasionally lol

Get some jute twine and tie it through the bait hole. Tie some overhand knots and rub the PB into the string, just make sure it is knotted tight and cut fairly close to the plate. It triggers a knawing instinct. The other way is get a dollar store hot glue gun and glue some dog food on the plate. Damn difficult for them to rob.

The Rat Zapper, I use ours in the attic.
The LED light hangs out of the attic hatch and lights up red when one is caught. Saved going into the attic to check it.

We have two in our garage, one on each side of the door, and another in our kitchen. The garage ones we check daily, the kitchen we deal with when we hear it fire off typically. Definitely no question when ones goes off, thats for sure.

How did you train the squirrels to use the guns? Amazing! They only shoot the rats, right?

I put my rat traps under an old milk carrier to keep the cats or dogs from licking it and getting an unwanted surprise! I did not count on the tenacity of my cat! He limped around for a month!

Crate, that's the word that alluded me! The cat put his arm through the handle hole and the trap got him. He raked the trap off as he pulled his paw back.

Nah, he's a pretty smart cat. He has alluded the sizable number of coyotes that live within a quarter mile radius of our house.
