Does tide matter for opeleye fishing. Deciding to go for them tommorow. Not sure if low tide is good for them

Find the spot where rock meets sand. Toss peas, shrimp, ghosts, mussel, corn etc... Opaleye respond well to chum... Bread, tortillas, American cheese, hot dogs, etc.. all work as chum as well... Not a hard fish to target

Depends on the spot. Take notes about what works and it will help you get more consistent.

There are certainly opaleye there, the rock wrasse might plague you though. If you catch big ones, eat them

Not a problem. I assume you are intending to eat these panfish? Damn few target them otherwise...lol

Scale and gut them underwater (no smell). Keep them cold after harvest and eat them promptly.

If your on a jetty or outlet, watch for eddies in the high to outgoing tide. Chuck bait in there with as little weight as possible to get it into the strike zone. Or just ask Werfless or K-Bo Smack. They seem to have it dialed in this year.

Talking to a fella this morning that had been to a new sushi place. I asked how he liked the food. He said it was a little under-cooked.

What he said, wrasse are very plentiful and if you find minimum 10” or so they are worth preparing, they’re like nature’s fish stick. Werfless avoids them and I target them lol, my advice is if you find yourself in a wrasse hole, 1) move, they seem to me to swarm and attack in small spots, like 10 feet away you can probably avoid them 2) don’t use shrimp or any crustacean as bait or chum if they’re around.

I had a lot of takes but they all went into the rocks and broke me off. I caught a little one but I put it back, forgot to take a pic. No skunk though! Today was super windy and I fished incoming tide so it was pretty rough so I added on a little spit shot.
