Needed to go to El Centro for a honeydo, of course fishing is a requirement! Wind was up there this time. Tried some new spots, was definitely the most diverse catch, but quality was low. Only two semi-decent bluegill made it in the cooler. Prolly caught 15 fish total in 5 hr:
Tilapia, carp, bluegill, LMB, channel catfish.

Kids couldn’t handle the wind so we left early. Temperature was uncommonly pleasant.

Is it too hot out there now? Have or can you take one of those small panfish and hookthem or cut them for bait? Go for monster catfish?

Going to be 110-115 this weekend out there. Cut panfish can work great. The questions is can you endure the heat this time of year.

I'm making a run tomorrow or Monday.

Man, that place is so cool. The one time we went was like fishing on another planet compared to local stuff. The kids constantly ask to go back. Werf put me on some and marked up my map, so as soon as temps get back down we are there.

Whetting my appetite. Thanks for the report!
