    thanks. happy back at you.

the first one came completely out of the water, knocking the gunfish high in the air. she was a foot out of the water, parallel to the water. so awesome.
the big girl just clobbered the gunfish on the surface and dove deep. she ran into the tulles. i could not stop her. she buried in and i had to go in and get her. grabbed her and the hooks fell out! LUCKY!!!
happy thanksgiving Paul and all sdfish brothers.

    Right back at ya JJ!

I have witnessed many times that a 4 pound bass is very strong! Often I am fooled by that size thinking it is much bigger!

Love when they go airborne, it's partly why I'm 'hooked.' Speaking of which I know you probably know this, but for you beginners, when you get blown up on don't go Iaconelli on the hookset, make sure the fish is hooked before you set the hook, so that if they missed, which is often, your lure is still in the vicinity that it can turn around and see if it's injured it's breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day, and go for it again. About 75% of the time the fish eats the lure just fine, but for the 25% that missed, about 50% of those I still catch, as I keep working the bait where it can see it still. When I was first learning, I'd set the hook with no fish, and the lure would end up 1/2 way back to the boat, and the fish was looking for his injured meal and it was nowhere to be found.

Happy Thanksgiving, I'll be going for trout up in the mountains, tastes great the day after turkey! :/)

PS, Tough bite for me too JJ, no 27, only 13 yesterday.
