It’s as if someone flipped a switch and turned on the fish! After 2 straight skunks for my buddy and I, we float tubed in Harvey arm on Saturday afternoon and caught 14 between us in about 3 hours. Of course after that we had to try again Sunday, and after about 10 minutes my buddy got a nice 8 pounder! (second photo). We also caught 14 between us on Sunday for a total of 28 bass in about 6 hours of fishing. What a difference a week makes! We tried a lot of baits but all they seemed to want was TR worms fished in about 10-15 feet, just outside the grass that coming up everywhere. Go get um guys and gals!! TJ says thank you! I've been trying to get him to join this site, this might motivate him to join up now that he's semi-famous :emoji_smiley:
I just showed this post to him and he's concerned that people will see the leash attached to the bass. It was just so he could keep her fresh while I kicked over to him to take photos. All fish were released (except 2 smaller bass that swallowed the hook on Saturday, and they were delicious!)

Glad to hear a good report from Otay. Been wanting to make the two hour trek from Chino to escape the heat, but not for a skunk . What is a TR worm? Trick worm, TRD?

Makes perfect sense, but I don't think I've heard of it before. I should've figured it out, considering in education we have new ones every year. Here in the IE, our fishing forum (fishing network) posts are almost nonexistent. Nobody wants to give away their secrets. This site is great!

Yes. I'm from Chino. My son and I started making the trek out to the SD area last year to beat the summer heat here. So far we've made it to San V and Otay. Was going to hit El Cap, but dealing with the lake lice sucks. Just like our local favorite, Lake Perris.

Otay would be your only choice right now to beat the heat! Inland lakes are 100+ last few days.
