Awhile back on the news they said not to call some of these numbers back. It's a new scam. If you call the number back they will bill your phone provider a fee to your bill. I don't know exactly how it works but they can do it. You can probably get the charges removed, but what a hassle. These people never give up. We have to be aware at all times.
Never say "yes" on the phone either, they can use it to make it sound like you are agreeing to something by dubbing it in to something else.
Whenever they ask is this "Larry " I just say "thats me." Another trick is to say "can you hear me." I just say "I can hear you."

Bottom line... if your phone doesnt recognize the number and there's no legit name attached to it, dont answer it. The scams go much, much deeper than you guys are aware of. Accountability and chance of capture/prosecution? Slim to none. They're always a step ahead and a non-extraditable country away.

Man they got my wife a few weeks ago..called and said they were detectives from from El Paso and that they found a car in her name full of coke...they would not let her off the phone and told her if she talked to anybody else she would go to jail...I felt bad cause they ended up getting her for 500 dollars before I found out what was going on...funny thing is that I managed to get one of their pre paid Visa card numbers and got access to their account..there’s only 12 bucks in there right now but as soon as I see it go up I’m transferring the money to another account..

Makes it really hard when your self employed and try to answer every phone call. If you answer and then hang up, your on even more lists. It’s at the point I can’t answer the phone for anyone I don’t know.

Yeah she felt bad for getting duped...it could’ve been a lot worse if I didn’t catch her on the phone and ask her what she was doing..the fact that I can’t get my hands on these guys is what upsets me the most..I still get calls from the fake irs guys and I always mess with them..someone was running a scam on Facebook the other day pretending to be a friend of mine..I sent them screen shots of a bank account they thought was mine that had a lot of zeros in it..hahah..they thought they hit the jackpot

My father-in-law before he passed away was scamed for 5 grand with the Green Dot cards that he bought and gave them the code on the back of the card to cash them in.
Sometimes I'll talk to these people for the fun of it. I received a call the other day for funeral arrangements. He asked how old I was. I said over three hundred years old because I was a vampire. That threw him off of his game.

VinnyBass could say that for reals!

Hate to admit it but a few years back I fell for the "Indian from Microsoft" scam. I let him onto my computer and he showed me all these error codes that were making my computer run slow. Did not know they were screen shots, and my computer was running slow. He actually did tune up my computer to the tune of $350. Then when I became wise to him and would not send him more $$$ he infected my computer with a nasty virus. Fortunately a friend bailed me out. Live and learn!

VinnyBass will not stand there and take that...I suggest perhaps a dance off...

My buddy got caught in a computer scam that is pretty common where they locked him out of his computer and would only open it for some money..I think around 300 bucks or so..he tried work around a bit there was no way in..he is a graphic designer by trade so his livelihood depended on his computer so he ended up paying the ransom
