A Barrett angler just mentioned seeing bald eagles at the lake.

Please tell me your fish-eating bird stories.....pictures would be extra cool.

I know we have the grebes and lots of herons, what about the osprey and others?

    Thanks.

Wefless, you probably know the answer to this question. In a few places on the slate stairs to my house, in the corners where the step meets the riser, there are these strange rubbery clumps with embedded sand. Does anyone have an idea what the heck that is?

    I don't think so. William.
There isn't any movement or change now, it's a blob with sand in and on it. There are a couple of them and it would give you the impression, true or not, that it's a slate parasite!

Lake Cuyamaca has a pair of bald eagles. I heard them today while trout fishing, but didn’t see them. They are always cruising around. Trout season they are very active and can be seen plunking trout from the lake. Very cool sight to see.
