El Capitan and Hodges are the two that come to mind. Of course, a hundred miles east is loaded with carp, some bigger ones (not like the old days tho)

You could fish the river, if you don't mind tweakers that is. I saw some nice carp on the Staples side of Camino del Este slurping up stuff when I was fishing there last week. They're super skittish though, so you'll have to be stealthy.

Any water carp are high on the list of contamination and to not eat them. Check out the warnings at Lake Murray and that is really clean. The river is nazzzzty.

Central main canal at S Clark road, southwest side. Get there before dark and be stealthy

Dunno.. Seems like the area just beyond the brush off the fishing dock is where I have seen them caught

Diamond Valley and Skinner average 15-25 lb fish and nobody really fishes for them. Perris has a bunch of 7-15 lbers. Please kill them if you catch them.

Keep walking the shoreline past the boat launch for two or three bends. Watch for fish breaking surface. Fish will be anywhere from a few feet off the bank to a full cast. Have had some blissful days in that area. Be warned though, the shoreline is dense with snags. Never figured out how to fish Hodges without losing 3/4 of my rigs.

Whenever I go to Wohlford, carp are always rustling the tules and busting in open water.

Hopefully it has bluegill or sunfish as well. It is on the list for the next run.

If youre looking to eat, I am not sure... Hodges and Moreana would be my bet for safety. If you wanna just pull on some mud marlins, lindo lake and the san diego river are both good bets. I know a lot of people will talk about mission ctr for access but I think the east county waters are much better. Access is not as easy but its got some monsters.
