FD22FECC-F624-4750-A292-E1E7893C96DA.jpeg Just saw this at Costco. Color seems new but price is the same as elsewhere. However, this comes with a hat and buff of the same color. 3 boxes in it.

May go pick one up later for inshore and offshore. Seems nice. Thought someone may want to know as well.

Just when I was starting to think my new little bag was cool you come up with a Plano. Mine has one small advantage though, it was on clearance at WalMart for $5. :emoji_relaxed:

It did cross my mind but I wasn't sure if it would be anyone else's cup of tea and I am getting up there in gear. As it is I already carry my pack, have one large box that I keep what I don't carry, then this new one. I realize this fishing thing is a lot about the gear but I am getting to the point where I figure I need to actually catch a fish before I go much further with any of it.

El Centro. I am not sure if any of the other WalMarts have fishing stuff on clearance. They also had a bunch of poles they were closing out. I saw some 7' Shakespeare's for $5.

The Shakespeare Excursion rods are about the best rods at their price point; regularly sell for 20 bucks. Nice cork grips, not like the cheap foam found on most low-end rods.
I have a handful of the Excursion spinning rods for when I'm fishing with a buncha kids.
There's a lot of stuff being marked down now, but it's scattered around between the stores. Generally not worth driving across town for....but check your local store-that-everyone-loves-to-hate.
So far this year I've seen the Excursion rods, the pink Okuma SST rods, Shimano Sienna 2500, Big Hammer Swimbaits, Gulp Shrimp, Luck E Strike worms and a bunch of other rods marked down.
NO, they're not going to have every size and color. But they mark it down a few bucks, then cut the price in half every few weeks 'til it's gone. The BH swimbaits were down to a buck a pack at the CV Walmart a few days ago; probably all gone now.
If you don't see anything left in Sporting Goods, ask someone if they have a "Clearance" section. Some stores (Santee and Parkway Plaza) move all the markdowns to one aisle after a while, when the markdowns get really extreme.

Oh, yeah. Don't look for the Excursion 6'6" MH baitcast rods at the Santee store. I got 'em already.

FWIW it’s on sale for $50 now. Has 3 3750 and 1 3650 trays with a hat and buff. It’s nice. Picked it up for near and offshore.
