Went out to the kelp with Oannes this morning on his big rig. The chovies at E. Bros all turned but we got a decent scoop of dines. Anchored out at the edge of the kelp and did a fair amount of chumming, ended up just bringing in a baitball of smelt to the boat, as well as a dog or two, making fishing pretty difficult. Retreated into the bay to do some drifts. Baits got raked a few times but we scored a few bass and an 18 inch hali on plastics. Still a super nice day on the water. Time to take that huge boat offshore or to the islands! Fishing is getting good!

It’s all about who you know! I will take raked baits and furbags over work any day.

I’d float the bay in a sinking ship over work any day
