Hey SDfish, I was supposed to go out for tuna on the Point Loma and the trip was going smooth, until the live bait tank generator overheated. We were almost to the spot when we had to to turn back because of the live bait tank generator failed. I really hope that the Point Loma owner doesn’t have to pay a lot for repairs. The crew gave us free trip vouchers for their boat or the mission belle, it wasn’t their fault the crew was really nice. I really hope they don’t go out of business because of the live bait tank generator. Good luck to the Point Loma.
    Thank you

At least they tried to make right despite the equipment failure. Shouldn't be that big of a deal, IMO, to replace a bait pump...

It was the whole generator that had to be replaced they said, maybe more they also said. They did try, and I was one of the only people on the boat that did realize that. I made this post for helping them out by making people aware that they may go down without help. They said it would be a expensive repair, god help their souls.

Good on the boat for making it right and giving out vouchers. I am sure they will be fine, I would assume these things happen a lot with boats. One of the many reasons I don’t own one :).

That sucks but hopefully they get it sorted out quickly and get back to fishing to help pay for it.

They have been in business long enough to expect things like this, its figured into the price of your ticket, and they will have it up and running in no time.
As far as their "souls" go, yeah you may want to worry about that one. :emoji_thinking:

It was a bad fuel filter. Got to the fuel dock and it was fixed in 10 minutes.

Did they just have to drain the gas to get access to the filter? Or just get someone who is a gymnast to get at it.

The filter literally hangs from the generator. It’s like changing a oil filter. Just have to prime it with some red dye first.
