Been trying to scout new areas and break away from the norm. I started on shore in SD bay after work around 11 A.M. Saw some good new ground and structure to fish however the current tide was not in favor for this particular spot. I poked around and decided to make like a banana and split up the road for MB. I started working some newer territory to the NW. I probably walked over 2 miles poking and probing. I discovered some good spots for higher tides and some good ones for lower tides. I was having a blast! Beautiful weather, beautiful women and just being alive, happy and healthy out trotting the shore. Very productive day.

Now for the fishing.... I had worked West for a good amount of time, so I back tracked and worked back to the East. I was finding some areas with real thick weeds and some thinner patches. I finally found what I was looking for..... Thick grass, little steeper drop off and some decent looking water. Saw plenty of bait out and about in fairly shallow and stained water. I came through a zone fishing a 3in Rude Bait in Coastal Classic color and got slammed 2 cast in a row. I stuck around and pulled a fish a few cast after. I had finally found an area holding fish. I continued to sweep the shore line and find some fish. I worked East for a while and then decided to work back West walking to my truck. I was off the water by 3:45 P.M. Today was about new areas, new techniques and hopefully a few fish. All goals were accomplished and If I had the choice I'd do it all over again. This was honestly a very peaceful and relaxing trip with some good success. I will be back on the prowl asap.

My kind of water. Nothing beats trekking new spots and catching plenty of fish.

Dang straight sir! You were a big help to the inspiration lol. Thanks as always. Haha I kinda wondered a few times passing people fishing if it was you. I'm sure I've seen you or I'm sure I will. Tight lines.

Ha yea I arrived to some prints as well. Saw some people fishing d-shots and bait, a few yaks and paddle boarders. Kinda nice, not so lonely yet not too crowded. Didn't see anyone catch a single fish.... Lots of boats and yaks moving around frequently.

Side note..... Checked the temp on NOAA and it said it was 64.2 degrees as of 3:59 P.M. Anyone confirm or deny?

I say 61. But there are parts of MB still higher since it's so shallow.

@Lawman and Sticky on the same page? A twist in the drama! @STiCKY nice meeting you at the fish shop the other day! Them rude baits swim like a charm but today they just didn't want to commit to 'em. Got a bunch of bumps and 1 huge slam but no sticks. This mornings session was all about the warblade. Rented out a skiff with another angler I met on IG and started hitting our usual spots. He showed me a few honey holes of his and vice versa. Sail Bay/north section of Mission Bay seemed to produce the most action. Let me say that today those spotties could not get enough of the blade, partially due to the dirtiness of the water I'm assuming. The bite really started picking up around noon but unfortunately so did the wind and the boating traffic. A couple damn jet skiers didn't even bother with the personal space, zooming by probably 10' away spilling wake into the boat, but overall I think we'd both say it was a success. I went for probably 8-9 solid 13"+ and my friend went for around 6-7 same size. Lots of bumps and short strikes, total time on the water had to be maybe 4 hours spending half the time exploring new spots.

Jetskiers at the river leave their brains on the dock before going out..must have something to do with 110 degree temps.
