Had a great morning fishing the surf using blood worms on a drop shot. Can anyone tell me what species the pink colored fish are?

Related to the Sheep’s Head. Know as a poor man’s lobster.

Congrats on another one of those fishing days you don’t forget, some really nice fish. Where did you get the bloodworms I tried Dana but they don’t sell them, I did well with some twenty years ago so I thought I would try them?

Thanks. The only place I’ve been able to find them is Squidco.

I called bait shops around SD before in late Spring. Squidco best bet to find them. Seaforth Landing bait & tackle stocks them, but call ahead to see if they are in. When they are out, they suggested some place in Lakeside, East County B&T.

Concur call ahead to Seaforth. A little better price at Squidco but I found quality better at Seaforth. Turner's on Clairemont Mesa once in awhile will have them but usually only their S. Marcos store has them regularly so I was told.

A lot of shops stock lugworms which are often referred to as bloodworms. Most come from China in bulk and are packaged locally. Thanks to the trade war, lots of worms aren’t making it over so many shops are out right now.
